Trooper Robert Pearson from the Queen's Royal Lancers Regiment lost his life on Monday, 21st April 2008.
Trooper Pearson was part of the Armoured Support Company, Royal Marines who were providing security to a resupply convoy that was returning to Camp Bastion when the vehicle he was driving hit a suspected mine.
Trooper Pearson was from Grimsby and was aged 22 years old, he was known by his nick name of 'Chesney' He leaves behind his father Paul, stepmother Gillian and sisters Terrie, Alex and Alivia.
Trooper Pearson joined his local regiment in early 2007, and was deployed to Afghanistan in January 2008 as part of the Armoured Support Company Royal Marines, in support of 52 Infantry Brigade. |
