Fusilier Daniel Whinham

of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

Daniel Whinham - 15th October 1983 - 13th December 2005.  22 years old.

Daniel was only 22 years old and  and from Gateshead, he was a soldier of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.  He had just qualified as a fully trained sniper, he was stationed in Cyprus and was due to be promoted in the January of 2006.  Daniel was a member of a four man Land Rover which was sent out to perform border patrols, the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle on a bend and the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree. 

Daniel was a son to be proud of, he left behind his loving parents and three sisters.
