United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – a country in Western Europe located in the Atlantic Ocean.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland occupies the island of Great Britain and the northern part of the island of Ireland. Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man have separate dependency status of the British Crown and are not part of the United Kingdom.

Great Britain is a member of international organizations: the United Nations (UN), of which it is a permanent member of the Security Council and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and it is also one of the eight most industrialized countries in the world (G-8).

The country was also considered to be one of the most influential members in the European Union until 2016, when, as a result of a referendum, Great Britain started the procedure of leaving this organization known as Brexit (abbreviation: British exit), with the withdrawal from the organization on January 31, 2020. Great Britain is power with nuclear weapons.

Army:

The Armed Forces of Great Britain consists of the Army, Air Force and Navy. In 2006, they numbered 429,500 soldiers (195,900 in active service, 191,300 in reserve and 42,300 in volunteer reserve). Great Britain has around 200 nuclear warheads.
